Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited post-secondary rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program or equivalent training may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Valid Heart & Stroke CPR certification. Demonstrated skill in engaging and motivating patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals and maximize their recovery. Demonstrated skill in using an occupational performance model to select treatment approaches and adapt interventions. Excellent communication, conflict resolution, team-building, time management and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of two years of experience in acute care especially pre- and post-operative care and critical care is preferred. Adaptability and flexibility in a hectic work environment. Demonstrated ability to prioritize caseloads, work both independently and on a multidisciplinary team, conflict resolution/negotiation and leadership skills. Knowledge of community health care services, computer literacy and experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) including eClinician would be assets.
