Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience in recreation programs for therapeutic recreation. Ability to work as a member of a team and to request and accept direction as required. Effective interpersonal and communication skills with patients/clients, families, visitors and team members. Well-developed time management skills. Ability to handle the physical demands of the position Provides a broad range of individual and group activities that are developed to meet the residents' needs under the guidance of the Recreation Therapist. Assists residents in getting ready for community outings when off site. Works collaboratively with other staff, families, and volunteers. Assists residents with toileting and personal care as required when off site. Good knowledge of written and oral English. Experience working in a LTC setting. Experience with clients that have dementia.

Preferred Qualifications:

Supportive Pathways or other dementia training is an asset. CPR Certification.
