Required Qualifications:

We are looking for someone with strong relationship-building skills and the ability to forge effective working partnerships with internal and external partners. Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans, with effective organizational and change management skills. Ability to coach and mentor staff, to inspire and build confidence in others. As well as someone that understands the application of security technology in assessing situations and has strong interpersonal, communication and administrative skills. Computer application skills in a Microsoft Window/Office environment and good documentation and report writing skills is an asset as well. Effective handling of stress, conflict/negotiation skills is needed. Must be physically fit to respond to fire and/or security related emergencies with AHS. Physical exertion required with lifting, pushing, pulling, restraining and standing for long period of time. Ability to provide a positive and friendly approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with empathy and sincerity. Ability to work effectively independently, and within a team, effectively managing his or her time and setting priorities when faced with multiple tasks and deadlines over a period of time.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Ability to follow and adhere to Alberta Health Services policies, procedures, goals and objectives including privacy and confidentiality concerns.


Preferred Qualifications:

Proof of leadership and management skills. Strategic planning and implementation skills along with strong relationship management abilities is preferred. A valid AHS Community Peace Officer I Appointment is preferred as well as WHMIS certificate and CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. Self-defense training, including restraint & handcuffing techniques and the P.A.R.E. certificate with a time no less than 4 min 45 seconds and current to within 6 months of start date us a considerable asset.
