Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree in business or a Human Resources related area supplemented by recent course work in Human Resources (i.e. negotiations, organizational effectiveness, conflict resolution). Equivalencies may be considered. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a human resources leadership role preferably in a unionized environment. Previous experience working in an HR services role supported by specialty teams. Previous HR experience in a large health care organization. Knowledge of Human Resources Management areas including collective agreement interpretation, grievance and arbitration preparation, total compensation, recruitment, performance management, leadership development, OH & S, HRMS, etc.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness interventions and programs or ability to manage change. Excellent coordination and project management skills. Ability to lead, inspire and build confidence in others Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to foster and maintain effective working relationships and partnerships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders. Demonstrated consulting, coaching, facilitation, conflict resolution and problem solving skills. Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and develop creative solutions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated collaboration skills and ability to foster a climate of cooperation and influence desired outcomes.


Preferred Qualifications:

A professional designation i.e. CPHR an asset. Knowledge of the business aspects of the health care or other public sector experience an asset.
