Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Unit Manager, the Supply Coordinator - Equipment Coordinator - Surgical Suite is responsible for ensuring the ongoing availability and maintenance of multiple types of high cost equipment including but not limited to sterile supplies, minor and capital equipment required in each of the 13 OR Theatre throughout the course of a day. Collaborating with the OR nurses, MDRD staff, Clinical Engineering and CPSM Supply Coordinator, the incumbent performs daily, weekly, and monthly tasks to ensure that equipment is readily available and in good working order for the surgical procedures being performed. This includes tracking equipment sets, reusable supplies, documenting and ensuring instrument equipment inventory is maintained and if missing items are noted, reporting it to the appropriate person. The Supply Coordinator - Equipment Coordinator - Surgical Suite is responsible for tracking high cost consumable supplies in an OR setting including coordinating loaner equipment, sorting and managing purchase orders & repair invoices, facilitating a repair process and providing data base reports as required. Coordinating consignment and loaner instruments & equipment in conjunction with MDRD & the Supply Coordinators is also required. Facilitating repair processes including management of annual preventative maintenance of OR tables, slush machines etc. organizing repair schedules and ensure completion of repairs will be completed in a timely manner.


As a Supply Coordinator, you will be required to perform numerous duties related to customer service and supply distribution functions. In this role you will initiate orders, track medical surgical supplies and equipment, track transactions, monitor inventory levels, manage repairs and loaner devices, and insure that supplies are available for optimum patient care. You will also be responsible for inventory counts, record keeping, and documentation.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Experience in health care procurement and shipping/receiving processes.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Five years’ experience with progressively increased responsibility in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Advanced computer experience including strong technical knowledge of MS Office (Excel including complex spread sheet management, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook). Proven communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide clear, concise and accurate information in response to complex inquiries. Strong process analysis, problem solving and decision-making skills with attention to detail. Ability to demonstrate communications skills that promote respect and a positive team environment in a highly demanding environment. Must demonstrate flexibility in order to accommodate competing and changing workload demands. Demonstrates advanced problem solving skills integrating critical thinking and good judgment. Demonstration of a clear pattern of personal and professional growth and development. Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Competence in RAH computer system - VAX is preferred. Healthcare experience particularly in an OR setting is an asset.
