Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Experience in health care procurement and shipping/receiving processes.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Recent experience in a Surgery Programs setting, as well as experience with ordering and care of surgical equipment. Computer skills including: Data entry, MS Word, Excel, Vax, Oracle (P2P), MS Office, Inter/Intranet navigation. Knowledge of various Surgery Care Programs within the Royal Alexandra Hospital. Knowledge of research tools, procurement, inventory control and maintenance processes for clinic and Minor Procedure equipment. Working knowledge of OH&S Standards, i.e. WHMIS Safety Data Sheets, CSA Standards and Health Canada Guidelines. Ability to comprehend medical terminology and interpret specific requirements for equipment and supplies required for the Surgery Programs Portfolio. Working knowledge of clinical and minor procedure equipment for minor troubleshooting. Understanding of Infection Prevention. Understanding of customer relations role with respect to service orientation and conflict resolution. Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend instructions given in English. Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with Management, Physicians, nursing staff, and other hospital associates. Ability to work on own initiative and motivation with limited supervision. Ability to prioritize workload, excellent organizational skills, work in a team environment, resolve conflicts and work effectively with frequent interruptions.

Preferred Qualifications:

Post-secondary education is an asset.
