Your Opportunity:
The Supervisor, Registration & Patient Information performs a leadership role in Health Information Management & reports directly to the Manager, Registration, Switchboard & Patient Information - EDM Zone. The position is responsible for management of Registration, Switchboard, & Information Desk providing the direction, leadership, & organization over activities of the area & ensuring the collection of accurate demographic & financial information for patients, presenting at various entry points of the health system in compliance with Provincial Registration Standards & Practices. The position has oversight responsibility for all operational aspects of the department and acts as a resource for the facility regarding registration & identity management practices & compliance with legislative & regulatory requirements. The position is responsible for making area level decisions and contributing to the achievement of the goals of RSPI in support of the vision, mission, & business plan of Health Shared Services. Provides leadership through direct & indirect supervision, motivating, guiding, & supporting staff. Establishes performance measures; monitors productivity, quality of work performed & addresses performance issues. Responsible to manage budgets, human assets & variances. Responsible for recruitment, orientation, training, & scheduling of staff. Adheres to and understands the Health Information Act, Protection of Privacy Act, Access to Information Act, and follows AHS’s. Information Privacy & Security policies. Supports one or more sites with travel being required based on individual portfolio & coverage. Acts as HIM Supervisor On-Call on a rotational basis to provide after-hours, weekends, and stat holiday support for staffing & urgent or emergent issues. This is not inclusive of all responsibilities.

Minimum three (3) years in a management/supervisory capacity, ideally in a healthcare organization of significant size, complexity and diversity required. Preference may be given to graduate of accredited Health Information Management Program with certification with the Canadian College of Health Information Management. Other post-secondary education and/or experience may be considered. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.

An excellent attendance record, reliability and personal suitability must be demonstrated through employment record, interview, and references.
Preferred Qualifications:Preferred experience within Registration, Switchboard and Patient Information.
