The successful incumbent will possess a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in architectural planning and design in a professional capacity, preferably on healthcare or related projects.
Additional Required Qualifications:This role requires a number of unique skills; comprehensive architectural, capital and or healthcare planning. An understanding of healthcare built environments and healthcare delivery/operations/systems including knowledge of best practice standards and the ability to search out creative solutions to complex and challenging problems. The successful applicant will have working knowledge of AutoCAD and familiarity with Building Codes. Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects of significant complexity and duration is also required. Important interpersonal skills include the ability to provide leadership to a diverse group of professional and non-professional health care staff, as well as Senior AHS Executive and external consultants, municipal agencies, community associations, foundation boards etc. on complex, occasionally confrontational, confidential, emotional and/or stressful issues. Travel within the Calgary Zone will be required on a project-by-project basis.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in operational planning, process engineering or a functional planning role within an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity is desirable. A Degree in Architecture, Healthcare Administration/Management, Urban/City Planning or Masters of Business Administration, preferably with a capital planning or healthcare background.
