Required Qualifications:

Advanced knowledge of provincial legislations and regulations as it relates to Occupational Health & Safety. Knowledge of ISO/CSA standards related to Occupational Health and Safety management systems. A minimum of 3 years in workplace health & safety in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity (healthcare experience is an asset). Nursing applicants must have current registration with CARNA.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Strong interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability with problem solving, issues resolution, coaching and teaching, and the ability to function at a high level within teams. Demonstrated ability to foster relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Facilitation and/or coordination experience in project planning, execution, evaluation and reporting. Demonstrated ability to facilitate change. Effective communicator with strong negotiation skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Extensive knowledge of occupational health and safety best practices. Builds and maintains an effective network of contacts and resources aligned with Workplace Health & Safety. Excellent analytical and evidence-based decision making skills. Ability to identify, interpret and communicate complex issues or difficult situations. Ability to develop and facilitate presentations to convey information or transfer knowledge.


Preferred Qualifications:

Undergraduate Nursing Degree and an OHN(c) certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution preferred; If OHN(c) is not present, proof of commitment to complete must be provided within 6 months from start date. Occupational Hygiene specialty with a degree in occupational hygiene/ related area plus appropriate license/other recognized designation preferred. Professional with a post-secondary degree in Ergonomics/Kinesiology or related degree plus appropriate licenses and designations.
