Required Qualifications:

Completion of master's degree in Speech Language Pathology. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Two (2) years current speech language practice. Comprehensive understanding of developmental milestones. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support- Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). Recent experience within the last two years in the care of clients with the ability to implement appropriate strategies for treatment in the following areas is essential: feeding and swallowing – SOS, SOFI, FIFI; Assessing and expanding communication skills of medically complex clients; Assistive technology. Must be able to work in various settings and environments (home environments and weather conditions), as well as be able to lift and carrying medical bags, which weigh approximately 25-30 lbs. Required to bend, pull, lift, and perform variable movements and position changes from sitting on floor doing activities with children, families, and colleagues to working at desk/computer for extended periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications:

Membership in Speech-Audiology Canada preferred (SAC). Two (2) years current pediatric speech Language pathologist practice and 1 recent year in Home Living as a case manager. McMaster Case Management training and understanding of the AHS Continuing Care Case Management Competency Framework. Computer knowledge/skills including Meditech and Outlook, and strong interpersonal skills. Knowledge of the principles of adult learning. Knowledge of pediatric community resources and programs.
