Child Development Services (CDS) offers a meaningful opportunity for a Speech Language Pathologist to contribute to a tertiary-level outpatient program supporting children, youth, and families with complex needs that exceed the scope of community or secondary services. Our clients often present with multifaceted medical, neurological, developmental, behavioral, and psychosocial challenges, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum dDsorder, genetic conditions, attention and learning difficulties, and co-occurring mental health concerns, often within the context of family stressors or barriers to care. As a Speech Language Pathologist in an advanced clinical practice role, you will provide comprehensive, evidence-based, family-centered assessment and consultation for children from birth to 18 years. Working collaboratively with developmental pediatricians, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, nurses, psychometrists, and education consultants, you will help families find clarity, direction, and support throughout their diagnostic journey. Your role will include profiling verbal and nonverbal communication and social interaction using a range of psychometric tools. Training and mentorship are available for specialized assessments and approaches. Additional responsibilities may include facilitating parent education groups, participating in case and family conferences, contributing to program development, and supporting professional education initiatives. Description:

As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide clinical professional practice both independently and as a part of a collaborative team, which may include external partners. You will be responsible for providing prevention, health promotion, identification, assessment, intervention, and case management. You will participate in the planning, coordination and delivery of rehabilitation services in collaboration with patients/clients, families, healthcare professionals and other partners. Your leadership and interpersonal skills will aid you in supervising students and providing clinical guidance to other staff as appropriate. You will use your clinical expertise to inform ongoing quality improvement, service integration, and program development.
