Required Qualifications:

Completion of master's degree in Speech Language Pathology. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience within the last year completing MBS studies with adults required. Experience within the last year working as an SLP in an acute care setting required. BLS for Health Care Providers Level C CPR certification issued within the last 12 months prior to commencement of employment. The successful incumbent will show proficiencies in the following areas: Interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain collaborative working relationships with members of the interdisciplinary team. Self-direction and independent decision making, sound clinical judgment and critical thinking skills. Time management and prioritization skills, with a demonstrated ability to function effectively within a dynamic and challenging environment. Effective communication with a patient and family centered focus. Demonstrates problem solving, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills. Creating innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Demonstrates commitment to and participation in activities which promote professional and personal growth and development. Actively integrates patient and family centered care principles into own clinical practice. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the values of AHS – compassion, accountability, respect, excellence and safety.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience within the last year completing FEES studies with adults preferred. Experience working on a multidisciplinary team with other Allied Health team members preferred.
