Completion of master's degree in Social Work. (equivalent education or experience may be considered). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:Heart & Stroke Foundation (Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider Level C) certification. Recent experience with and an advanced level clinical intervention and assessment skill in crisis intervention, psychotherapy/counselling with patients and families. In-depth knowledge and experience in working with Income Security programs at community/provincial /federal levels (Alberta Works, AISH, CPP). Experience and knowledge of community and financial resources, end of life and bereavement care, domestic violence, addictions and counselling. Ability to prioritize conflicting demands and ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a patient-centred, interdisciplinary team of health care professionals.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent clinical experience working in Emergency Department as a medical social worker, within the last 5 years. Demonstrated understanding of legislative acts including PDA, AGTA, CYFEA, MHA, PPCA, and HIA. Demonstrated leadership in education, group facilitation and clinical practice while working within a multidisciplinary team. Experience working with a pediatric population.
