Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

BSW in Social Work required, MSW preferred (equivalent education and experience may be considered). Current registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW). Non-violent Crisis Intervention, Suicide Intervention training, De-escalation training & Debriefing training required. Ability to organize activities and set priorities. Computer literacy mandatory, including, MS office, NetCare, VAX, E-clinician, E-critical and EDIS. A minimum of two years acute care experience required, and preferably with experience in mental health assessment or within an ER environment. Advanced knowledge and competency of mental health and addictions, intervention, risk assessment, crisis intervention, strong knowledge of SW theories and practice models as well as counselling theories, active listening skills, critical thinking skills, effective problem solver, strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to work independently and within a team environment. Ability to prioritize competing demands and ability to work independently with little or no direct daily supervision. Ability to function effectively within the interdisciplinary team required. Requires initiative, clinical judgment and advanced assessment and intervention skills. Ability to establish positive working relationships with a variety of patients and families. Clinical intervention.

Preferred Qualifications:

Authorization to perform psychosocial interventions preferred.
