Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Nursing. Active or eligible registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Three (3) years of direct operational management experience in health care environments within the last 10 years. Eligible for or active registration and practice permit with the applicable College or Association. Proven ability in managing a complex department with multiple goals. Requires understanding of the inter-dependencies within the health care system, the Region and with educational institutions.

Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, and resident focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within the team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire other to achieve common goals. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to facilitate and negotiate tactfully. Demonstrated ability in managing a complex department with multiple goals. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Demonstrated ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Demonstrated ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally managing within a unionized sector. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and manage short term and long term plans and projects and deliver customer focused results. Requires understanding of the inter-dependencies within the health care system, the Region and with educational institutions.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a rural healthcare facility.
