Your Opportunity:


Reporting to the Director, IPC Surveillance and Standards, the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Senior Project Manager is a key member of this team. As part of the provincial IPC program, the Senior Project Manager leads provincial initiatives and provides senior consulting expertise and advice to other provincial initiatives. The Senior Project Manager has expert knowledge in IPC and is able to apply this knowledge for program initiatives. The Senior Project Manager provides leadership and support to advance strategic objectives and priorities in the areas of IPC and project management. The Senior Project Manager manages complex provincial projects, and works with IPC staff and external stakeholders to apply service design, change management and process improvement principles to complete expected deliverables and milestones in the required timelines. The Senior Project Manager also supports mandated reporting to Alberta Health on IPC activities and outcomes and is accountable for completion of this annual report according to the required approval and submission deadlines.

Required Qualifications:

The minimum educational requirement is a baccalaureate degree, with health-related graduate degree preferred. A minimum of five years’ experience in a leadership role in a healthcare organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity with a demonstrated pattern of professional and personal development, along with strong computer and technical skills and demonstrated ability to function well both independently and within a team is required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

In addition, the incumbent will possess demonstrated abilities in the following areas: excellent communication and inter-personal skills coupled with strong organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst and build solid relationships, leadership, program development, implementation, and evaluation; strategic thinking, taking into account long-term goals, assessing options and implications; proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within a large, diverse organization; and a client-focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in Infection Prevention and Control and Project Management credentials are preferred and active licensure with a governing body if appropriate. Change management and quality improvement training would be an asset. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.
