Required Qualifications:

Required qualifications include: A PhD (or equivalent in experience) in a health related field (e.g., Sociology, Psychology, Epidemiology, Community Health Sciences, Education, etc.) with a strong mixed method and/or evaluation specialization (or equivalent experience); A minimum of 7 to 10 years’ experience conducting evaluations, including provincial work leading complex initiatives and/or projects in the area of addition and mental health or primary health care; Experience in leading complex, systems level evaluation including writing of the final evaluation report; Proven ability to work collaboratively with a broad spectrum of stakeholders including persons with lived experience and their families; Understanding of Alberta’s primary health care strategy, governance structures and its relevant stakeholders; Evaluation experience involving individuals with social and health vulnerabilities; Broad based competencies across the practice of evaluation as determined by the Canadian Evaluation Society (CES). These include: reflective, technical, situational, management, and interpersonal practice; Adaptive and skillful in tailoring communication of evaluation results to meet audience needs.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Additional required qualifications include: Past experience using health systems (administrative) data to support evaluation reporting; Have a working understanding of Alberta’s Health Information Act including privacy and data sharing legislation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Possessing Credential Evaluator status from CES is optimal, but not essential.
