Required Qualifications:

Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Current registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA) or the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) and must be maintained throughout employment. CPR (BCLS-HCP) is required and must be maintained throughout employment. Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or a recognized equivalent. Respiratory Therapist II extended diploma from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy. ECLS Certification from an Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO) training course (or comparable institutional course based on ELSO guidelines for training). Willing to participate on the Stollery ECLS transport / retrieval service and provide on-call coverage as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

3-5 years clinical experience in pediatric critical care. 3-5 years clinical experience with ECLS patients and/or as an ECLS specialist. Previous experience and training as an ECLS primer. Minimum 500 clinical ECLS pump hours. Familiarity with ELSO guidelines and standards.
