Required Qualifications:

Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must be NRP-certified with recent experience with newborns. Experience in blood gas procurement is a requirement. Maintenance of NRP certification and Health Care Provider level CPR through the Heart and Stroke Foundation is a requirement. Must possess a solid working knowledge of respiratory therapy/healthcare technology (i.e. computerization, therapeutic/diagnostic equipment). Must possess excellent organizational and coordination skills as well as very good communication skills, oral and written. Proven interpersonal skills and an ability to demonstrate a positive, effective attitude toward the profession, clients and colleagues is a must. Must be able to work effectively in a high-stress environment and/or emergency situations as well as show initiative and motivation in meeting the job demands. Must be able to use sound judgement in decision-making situations and to work harmoniously both in a team as well as independent environments.
