Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have obtained a Master’s degree with a focus in Occupational Health / Industrial Hygiene, or equivalent; a combination of education and work experience will also be considered. Particular skills and knowledge base in the following areas are required: At least 3 years occupational hygiene exposure monitoring experience (field work must be included). Experience working with employer and/or labour partners to design and implement a hygiene sampling campaign. Expertise in data management and data cleaning; preparation of simple descriptive statistics and reports. Ability to interpret and apply relevant occupational acts and regulations. Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment. Ability to prepare clear, concise, and accurate research publications and reports. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and apply problem solving skills to ensure project success. Demonstrated ability to take initiative. Highly developed time-management skills. Ability to design and manage databases. Research experience (especially in occupational hygiene). Attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in field sampling in industries such as farming or construction. Knowledge of key industrial or labour contacts in Alberta for sampling recruitment purposes. Experience or knowledge in principles of UV radiation exposure assessment and/or skin cancer prevention. An interest in, or specific training in, science communications and/or knowledge translation.
