Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Biostatistics or Statistics with advanced programming skills. Demonstrated ability to work with large, complex data sets stored in SQL databases. Expert in use of SAS (SAS Certification an asset), with advanced programming in R. Minimum one year experience applying statistical analysis methods in a health work place setting. Excellent communication skills including advanced written and spoken English skills. Ability to work collaboratively with members of an interdisciplinary team.

Additional Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate will work on a variety of biostatistical and cancer epidemiologic research studies and will work on several concurrent tasks/projects. Independent judgment, attention to detail, ability to learn new methods and strong problem-solving skills will be essential in performing the job duties. Sophisticated data processing and data analysis skills will be required. Additional data analyses will involve modelling survival data analysis, generalized linear models, structural equation models and multivariate methods. Job responsibilities include: Manipulating large and complex data sets. Programming and/or implementing new statistical methods in SAS and/or R. Conducting data quality checks on SQL databases, making and logging corrections. Conducting basic and advanced statistical analyses. Documenting data analysis steps. Preparing written summaries of data analyses that include figures and tables, as needed for scientific publications and presentations.

Preferred Qualifications:

A. Stat. or P. Stat. Accreditation is desirable. Knowledge and experience with epidemiologic and biostatistical studies is an asset. Experience with, or interest in, gaining skills in data science is an asset.
