Your Opportunity:

We are looking for a Registered Psychiatric Nurse to to join our dynamic multidisciplinary Assertive Outreach Team. You will provide direct Mental Health nursing care to adult clients with severe and persistent mental illness in the community clinic, community setting and/or client homes. Using the rehabilitative recovery model, you will work with other disciplines and clients to enhance client wellness and quality of life. The town of Peace River is nestled in the beautiful Peace River valley and is the cultural and economic hub of the Mighty Peace Region of northwestern Alberta. Serving a population of 7,700 and a trading area of over 15,000 people. Residents enjoy a wide range of indoor and outdoor recreational activities including golfing, hockey, camping and swimming, just to name a few. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. Description:

As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), you will provide leadership through a wide variety of nursing services to patients (clients, residents) for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health, mental health and preventing mental illness, injury and disability. You will teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and take necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care, while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Psychiatric nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
