Completion of an accredited Psychiatric nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:A superior working knowledge of mental health and concurrent disorders. A working knowledge of providing services within the framework of a legislated Mental Health Act.
Preferred Qualifications:Non Violent Crisis Intervention. If RN/BSN must have recognized post basic education in psychiatric nursing and mental illness. Current registration with College & Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Two years recent related experience working with acute mental illness/psychiatry preferably including crisis intervention/psychiatric emergency response work. PCCLS, ASSIST, ACLS preferred.
