Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Basic computer skills. Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational and assessment skills. Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships with the interdisciplinary team. Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintain collaboration with team members. Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changing and fluctuating workloads and work conditions. Demonstrated accountability, critical thinking, interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to respond to new needs in the role as they arise, within initiative and self-directedness. Willingness and enthusiasm to lead within the team and in the charge nurse role

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with CoACT and Connect Care. Experience working with persons with mental illness/addictions. 1-2 years of experience in an Acute Psychiatry. Non-violent crisis intervention training. Sound observation and strong verbal communication skills. Positive attitude and the ability to work effectively in a team. English language proficiency required. Critical thinking and problem solving. Trauma informed care. Knowledge of recovery model, harm reduction and the stages of change.
