Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Physically able to work in a high paced department, must be able to lift, bend, kneel, squat and walk a minimum of 5 Kilometers per shift including stairs while carrying or pulling resource materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Able to perform physical requirements such as being on ones feel for an extended period (walking and standing). Must be able to provide physical assistance to clients in an acute care setting and physically able to intervene to ensure client safety. Required to perform up to 6 hours of keyboarding (up to 40 wpm) and written documentation per shift while navigating a variety of software programs. Minimum of two year of medicine / surgical experience required. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to perform all duties in accordance with related legislation

Preferred Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in community sector will be considered. Community experience preferred. Demonstrated familiarity with computer programs. Understands and is able to apply case management principles as it relates to the transition of clients through the continuum of care.
