Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years nursing experience required. Knowledgeable with programs PARIS, SCM, Netcare, Pathways. Able to perform physical requirements such as being on ones feet for an extended period (walking and standing). Must be able to provide physical assistance to clients in an acute care setting and physically able to intervene to ensure client safety. Demonstrated conflict resolution, problem-solving, negotiation and facilitation skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills to efficiently organize and prioritize workload. Ability to be self-directed and exercises independent decision making, nursing judgment and critical thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous nursing practice in community and in the geriatric sector preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of community agencies and resources in order to facilitate the linkage to appropriate services.
