Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:3-5 years of experience in Acute Care Addiction and Mental Health within the Calgary Zone. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training (NVCI). Working knowledge of Mental Health Illnesses across populations and Mental Health diagnosis using the DSM V manual. Working knowledge of the Addiction and Mental Health System within AHS, Calgary Zone. Working knowledge of Addiction and Mental Health related resources in the Calgary community. Strong critical thinking, assessment, and intervention skills (including crisis intervention skills). Ability to manage a wide variety of ability to effectively liaise with various professionals. Ability to work confidently, independently, and within collaborative partnerships. Ability to thoroughly and accurately collect and document information in a complete and accurate professional and timely manner. Proficiency in computer navigation.
Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of diagnostic difference between delirium and dementia. Previous experience working with geriatric populations both Inpatient and Outpatient. Previous experience working with the adolescent population both Inpatient and Outpatient. Previous experience working with the adolescent population both Inpatient and Outpatient. Previous experience working in psych emergency setting preferred.
