Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent Public Health nursing experience including immunization, Healthy Beginnings, and Child Health Clinic preferred. Other desirable recent nursing experience includes maternal/postpartum and newborn assessment. Must possess strong assessment, communication, organizational, problem solving, and counseling skills. Must be able to work both independently and as a part of various teams, as well as possess a good understanding of the determinants of health. Effective communication skills required, oral and written. Proven ability to work positively, effectively and cooperatively within an interdisciplinary team. Working knowledge of computer applications including basic word processing, email, electronic charting, internet access, and data entry required.
Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in community sector will be considered.
