Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

3-5 years of experience in the Addiction and Mental Health field. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training. Working knowledge of Mental Health/Mental illnesses across populations and Mental Health diagnosis. Knowledge of Addiction and Mental Health system and resources within Alberta Health Services, Calgary Zone. Knowledge of Addiction and Mental Health and related resources in the Calgary community. Strong critical thinking, assessment, and intervention skills (including crisis intervention skills). Ability to manage a wide variety of clinical situations with varying levels of acuity and a heterogeneous client population. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively liaise with various professionals. Ability to work confidently, independently, and within collaborative partnerships. Ability to thoroughly and accurately collect and document information in a complete and accurate professional and timely manner. Proficiency in computer navigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Community and crisis experience. Previous experience with dictation or Dragonspeak an asset.
