Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of five (5) years nursing experience with two (2) years of Palliative Care experience within the last 10 years. Commitment to continuing education in Palliative Care and to significantly expand knowledge and skills in a short time. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to lead a team and promote collaboration and partnership. This position will be expected to participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 telephone consult coverage throughout North Zone.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in at least two (2) care sectors, including Home Care. CNA Certification in Hospice Palliative Care or willingness to obtain. Case Management Education. Familiarity with using a PC, Internet, Meditech and Microsoft Office applications. Demonstrated abilities in program planning, education of adults, interdisciplinary practice and research activities and experience in delivery of care in the community setting.
