Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Current Certification as IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) Required. Basic computer skills. Strong communication skills. Ability to establish strong working relationships with colleagues and patients, and work within an interdisciplinary team. Adaptability to a constantly changing environment. Commitment to providing patient and family centered care. Proficient critical thinking skills. Strong commitment to improving care and working towards best-practice. Personal commitment to maintaining continuing competency and professional development. Ability to manage and effectively prioritize a variety of demands concurrently. Active participation and contribution to improving the work environment. Ability to meet physical requirements including, but not limited to sitting, standing for long periods, lifting, bending, twisting, squatting, pushing and pulling. Ability to be self-motivated and work independently within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree preferred. Current certification in Neonatal Resuscitation is an asset. Experience and training in Fetal Health Surveillance is an asset. Leadership experience is an asset.
