Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

This position requires an ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders including Facility Living colleagues, other CCPCS consultants, psychiatrists, site frontline clinical staff and Directors of Care and Supportive Living Case Managers; demonstrated excellence with inter professional skills in addition to sound clinical judgment are important performance components. The ability to think critically, use effective problem solving and establish positive negotiations with client care are further skills that will help in this role. Excellent oral and written skills, time management skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are key in providing consultation services to the contracted Long Term and Supportive Living sites. Promotes communication, teamwork and the effective utilization of resources. Provides assistance with referral to other agencies or programs as appropriate. Maintains records and documentation and acts in accordance with the established policies and procedures of Facility Living and Continuing Care. Assists center staff to plan programs, as requested, for residents with mental health and/or behavioral problems. Creates and fosters a supportive environment within continuing care to ensure an integrated interdisciplinary care model. General computer literacy and ability to work with mobile devices and various computer programs is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

RN/RPN, Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is preferred. At least three years of recent health professional experience in Continuing Care or Mental Health with experience in geriatric psychiatry preferred. Understanding with pharmacological or nonpharmacological approach to behavioural support is preferred. Demonstrated track record of the ability to engage and work with stakeholders to provide coaching and mentoring.
