Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

The candidate must have at least 2 years of nursing experience and current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) from Heart and Stroke Foundation within the last 12 months. This role requires travel; possession of a valid drivers’ license and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work related purposes is a requirement of this position. You will be required to operate a laptop computer and mobile phone, and for manual handling (lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing and pulling) as a regular part of the job. For example: lifting of approximately 30 pounds in and out of a vehicle on a regular basis and carrying this weight up and down stairs throughout the day is common within this job. Learning resources and training are provided to safely perform work.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have: a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, experience working with acute clients and/or long term clients with a focus on chronic disease management, recent experience in a community based setting (Home Care experience is an asset), experience providing case management services, Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) certification in Gerontology and experience in Home Parenteral Therapy (HTP), wound, kinds, ostomy care, palliative support and client teaching.
