Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent (2 year) pediatric experience with tracheostomies, wound care, HPT, and central lines. Comprehensive understanding of developmental milestones. Strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to work in different settings and environments (home environments and weather conditions), as well as be able to lift and carrying professional bags, which weigh approximately 15-30 lbs. Required to bend, pull, lift, and perform variable movements and position changes from sitting on floor doing activities with children, families, and colleagues to working at desk/computer for extended periods of time. Knowledge of pediatric community resources and program preferred. Knowledge of the principles of adult learning is an asset. Computer knowledge/skills including Meditech and outlook is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate Degree or Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in community sector will be considered. Two years recent experience in the care of pediatric clients preferred. McMaster Case Management training and understanding of the AHS Continuing Care Case Management Competency Framework preferred. 2 years current nursing practice and 1 recent year in Home Living as a Case Manager preferred.
