Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years of current experience with the Healthy Beginnings Postpartum program required. Experirence with Meditech Electronic Medical Record required. Ability to be self-directed and to exercise independent nursing judgement. Experience working with teens, young adults, diverse cultures, young families, low-income families, and other vulnerable or marginalized populations is required. Knowledge of the determinants of health required. Strong clinical, analytical, critical thinking and decision making skills required. Experience in multidisciplinary team work required. Ability to adapt in a changing work environment is required. Strong written and oral communication skills required. Strong interpersonal skills required. The successful candidate will be required to pack, lift, move and transport heavy and awkward supplies to various work sites. Service delivery may require walking several blocks and climbing several flights of stairs, awkward and repetitive movements, sitting, standing and /or bending for long periods of time. A valid Alberta driver’s license and vehicle is required.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Connect Care is an asset. Baccalaureate degree in nursing is preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to the nursing practice in the community sector will be considered.
