Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:1 year of emergency experience and/or 2 years of medicine/surgery experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Application package provides examples of excellent communication skills. In this position, you will be on your feet for an extended period of time (both walking and standing), and you must be able to assist in transporting, lifting and positioning of patients. You will also be required to bend, lift, push, and pull equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent nursing experience in a tertiary/urban. Recent critical care experience in the last 2 years. ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, PALS, EPICC, NRP – Preference will be given to applicants with 3 of 6 (Must provide certificate prior to interview). Certified Emergency Nurse (CAN or CNE) is an asset. Preference to those who can demonstrate excellent assessment skills, organizational skills, patient care skills, and leadership skills. Current UAH/Stollery Emergency preferred.
