Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 1 year recent (within 2 years) surgical nursing experience. Understanding of CoAct and collaborative care in the acute care setting. Compliance with the AHS Hand Hygiene policies. Basic knowledge of computers and software applications (i.e. Microsoft Office).
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Peripheral vascular surgery nursing experience. Current IV, CVC, epidural, and PCA certifications. In addition, the incumbent will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: Strong patient teaching skills. Ability to be self-directed and exercises independent decision making, nursing judgment and critical thinking skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively maintain collaborative working.
