Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:There is also an expectation to be a mobile worker. This role requires travel within the city of Calgary including caring for clients in their homes or in the community. BCLS-HCP from Heart and Stroke Foundation within the last 12 months. You will be responsible to operate a laptop computer and mobile phone, and for manual handling (lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing and pulling) as a regular part of the job. For example: lifting of approximately 30 pounds in and out of a vehicle on a regular basis and carrying this weight up and down stairs throughout the day is common within this job. Learning resources and training are provided to safely perform work.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Experience working with acute clients and/or long term clients with a focus on chronic disease management. Experience in providing case management services. Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) certification in Gerontology. Experience in Home Parenteral Therapy (HPT), wound, skin and ostomy care, palliative support and client teaching.
