Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Expert patient assessment skills. Pre- and post-procedure monitoring and assessment of patients; recognizing rapidly changing situations, prioritizing care, reporting concerns and delivering safe and effective care to patients. Demonstrates a high level of independence, initiative and self-direction. IV initiation course required. Physical fitness and endurance to work 7.75-hour shifts, able to tolerate extended periods of standing in one position. Physical ability to push stretchers with patient load. IV medication administration course required. Procedural Sedation course and certification required.
