Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum two (2) years’ within the last five (5) years' experience working within an Acute Addiction and Mental Health role. Ability to thoroughly and accurately collect and document information in a concise, professional and timely manner. Demonstrated competency in psychiatric assessment and crisis intervention. Working knowledge of mental health/mental illness across populations and of DSM V diagnosis Thorough working knowledge and understanding of the Mental Health system Provide coaching and mentorship to peers Ability to manage a wide variety of clinical situations with varying levels of acuity and a heterogeneous patient population Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a stressful environment and effectively resolve conflict. Ability to be self-directed and exercise independent decision making, nursing judgment and critical thinking skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills to efficiently organize and prioritize workload. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with a multi-disciplinary team of health professionals. Excellent written, verbal and computer processing skills.
