Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 1 to 2 years of medical/surgical experience. Demonstrated effective time management skills. Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills. Must be able to provide direction to other health care workers. Basic computer skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Successful candidate must be able to lift 40lbs (18kg). Please note: The position is located in Central Zone in Red Deer. Must be available to take Hemodialysis training in Edmonton or Red Deer. Final exam score of 80% and clinical pass is required to successfully complete the Hemodialysis education program. Upon successful completion of the Hemodialysis training program, unit specific orientation shifts will be assigned by the hiring manager.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to applicants who possess current hemodialysis skills. Familiarity with NIS and AHS databases is an asset. Nephrology Certification and/or recent nephrology experience is an asset. Knowledge of case management is an asset.
