Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

As a Charge Nurse you have demonstrated leadership and the ability to work within a multifaceted, dynamic, and unpredictable environment requiring the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities. You have demonstrated the ability to assess, coordinate, supervise, administer and evaluate the provision of health services and healthcare resources including the supervision of unregulated health care workers. You foster professional growth and effectiveness of unit personnel. You demonstrate flexibility to adapt to changing resident needs and priorities as well as utilizing critical thinking and problem solving skills to address family concerns and maintaining a safe work environment. You have the ability to withstand physical demands of lifting, pulling, pushing, transferring and transporting residents and equipment. You accept administrative responsibilities as assigned. You demonstrate excellence in clinical skills while working both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You have experience in Continuing Care/Long Term Care. You have Supportive Pathways training in the care of the cognitively impaired elderly. You have Palliative Care training. You are committed to confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

Serve as a preceptor for students as assigned and orientate new staff. Completion of Meditech 5.67 training.
