Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years of recent acute care surgical experience with demonstrated knowledge of current surgical procedures and patient's experience throughout the peri-operative period. Demonstrated ability to take initiative, function independently, and work within a multidisciplinary team environment. Demonstrated well developed assessment, critical thinking and complex reasoning skills, recent charge nurse experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage complex and changing workload demands and competing priorities. Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Demonstrated change management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent Pre-Admission Clinic experience is preferred. Demonstrated ability to apply principles of adult learning; recent adult teaching experience preferred.
