Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Active registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) and to maintain registration throughout the duration of employment. Pediatric in-patient surgical/medicine experience required. Strong organizational and assessment skills are required with the ability to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner. Must also possess strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills with the capability of adapting to a fast paced outpatient environment as well as an acute inpatient surgical environment. Proven reliability and dependability is required. Must be able to perform full duties with the ability to work with patients of varying mobility. Successfully pass the Stollery Operative Services Medication Administration Exam with an 80% (to be done at interview). Successfully complete the Stollery Pediatric Orientation program and pass the following: PEARS course (Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization course) and the Stollery Medication Administration Exam with 90%.
