Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 1 year emergency nursing experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Demonstrated excellent assessment, organizational and patient care skills. Ability to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner. Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills. Must be able to identify own learning needs and see guidance in professional practice where knowledge deficits occur.

Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of 2 years med/surge experience. Preference will be given to applicant with recent nursing experience in a tertiary care facility Emergency Department. Preference will also be given to those candidates who possess recent acute/critical care experience in the last 2 years. Certified Emergency Nurse (CAN or CNE) an asset. Preference will be given to those with one or more of the following certifications: ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, or PALS.
