Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Basic computer skills. Successful candidate must be able to lift 40 lbs. (18kg). Must be able to attend Hemodialysis training in Edmonton or Red Deer. Travel expenses will be covered by Alberta Health Services as per the Travel, Hospitality, and Working Sessions Expenses – Approval, Reimbursement, and Disclosure Policy. Upon successful completion of the Hemodialysis training course in either Edmonton or Red Deer; pass mark of 80% on the final exam and satisfactory performance during the clinical component is required to move onto buddy shifts. Unit specific orientation shifts will be assigned by the hiring manager. Required to attend 2-day mandatory post orientation (3 Months Post).
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 1-2 years recent Med-Surgical Nursing experience. Recent acute and chronic Hemodialysis and or nephrology nursing experience. Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills. Demonstrated knowledge of case management.
