Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills. Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making abilities required. Successful completion of a recognized Practical Nursing educational program (diploma or certificate in practical nursing). Must have Physical Assessment, IV Therapy and Medication Administration course. Successful candidate must be able to lift 40lbs (18kg). Basic computer skills required. The NARP program requires candidates to complete/pass Hemodialysis Training. This training will be full-time for 5 weeks in either Edmonton or Red Deer. Next program start will be running from Feb 4th to March 1st or March 4th to 29th -Monday to Friday. Candidates with previous experience will be required to complete Hemodialysis Training as per Manager/Educators discretion. A passing mark of 80% on the final exam and satisfactory performance during clinical component is required to move on to buddy shifts. Candidates are also required to attend 2-day mandatory post orientation (3Months Post). Upon successful completion of the orientation the RN will be able to proceed to the unit specific orientation - shifts as assigned by the Unit Manager in Vegreville but may also include the other NARP sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum 1-2 years recent Med-Surgical Nursing experience is an asset. Recent acute and chronic Hemodialysis and or nephrology Nursing experience is an asset. Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills. Demonstrated knowledge of case management is an asset.
