Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum three years acute care medical/surgical experience. Recent experience (within 6 months) working in an area that require frequent daily IV starts, with a high rate of successful starts. Well-developed IV skills. Level 1 CVC certification. Knowledge of processes within outpatient clinics and a keen interest in the care of the outpatient population is essential. Experience working independently, and collaborating with multi-disciplinary team. Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal. Must also be able to work in a small, fast paced clinic area with competing pressures from outpatient, inpatient, and emergency department. Conflict resolution skills are required. Must be highly motivated and be able to work in a team environment. Must be able to work in a physically challenging environment: frequent walking, lifting, and bending are necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in community sector will be considered. HPTP/AVAS experience within the last 2 years. Ambulatory experience. Experience working with Netcare, SCM, Clinibase, and Millennium Scheduler programs. Previous experience working with CADD pumps. Previous leadership role. Telephone assessment. Formal adult teaching experience.
