Completion of bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies. Active or eligible registration for Professional Membership with Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum one year clinical RT experience with an adolescent population. Knowledge and experience using evidence-based RT measures and interventions. Active physical participation with clients. Ability to work evening hours to facilitate provision of recreation therapy programming. Ability to provide leadership and support to volunteers. Support of mentoring in the process of youth development. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Excellent consultation, communication and documentation skills. Computer skills required, including the ability to work with Windows and Microsoft Office. Current CPR and NVCI certification.
Preferred Qualifications:Certification with CTRS. Knowledge of barriers affecting adolescents with mental health diagnoses and legal conflict. Knowledge of effective strategies for working with at-risk youth in a recreation setting.
