Required Qualifications:

Completion of master's degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from an accredited university program. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion or in progress of university doctoral degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or American Psychological Association (APA) program with an accredited 1600 hour internship/residency at a CPA and/or APA accredited internship/residency program. Demonstrated ability to engage and support patients/families through chronic pain management treatment and programming in both individual and group settings including evidenced-based methods to manage pain including pain education training for patients and parents, physiological arousal reduction (e.g., relaxation training), activity regulation, sleep management, mood management, stress management, mindfulness, self-compassion, and managing complex family dynamics. Working knowledge of pediatric chronic pain management in children, adolescents and emerging adults aged 3 – 18 years. Ability to move, lift, transfer weights over 50 lbs. Ability to manage multiple priorities and interruptions.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of chronic pain care in pediatric, adolescent, and emerging adult populations. Health-related counseling. Mindfulness training. Research experience. Working knowledge of community supports. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
